The “Freeland Firehawks” are a travel baseball/softball organization that is based in Freeland, MI. For 2026 there are 13 teams ranging from 8U through 14U practicing and competing in practices, scrimmages and tournaments from September 2025 through August 2026.

The Freeland Firehawks vision is to provide high quality instruction in the development of baseball/softball skills, sportsmanship, and competitiveness to foster the love of the game. However, the focus is so much more than that; our mission is to encourage participation, develop character and discipline, promote teamwork, encourage respect for authority, advocate citizenship and community pride, and most importantly, having fun while doing it. Our focus is to build and sustain competitive baseball/softball in Freeland, MI. In addition to being a youth travel baseball organization, we offer clinics, training, and civic engagement. We believe baseball should be used to break down boundaries as opposed to putting them up. As an organization, we understand the importance of player development and it is the foundation of our program. Our 4 main goals are as follows:

• Teach and inspire leadership

• Prepare our youth to succeed in life

• To give back to our community and teach our youth to do the same

• Promote the importance of a healthy and active lifestyle

We conduct training sessions indoors 5 months of the year and participate in competitive games and tournaments 5 months of the year. Training and all games are offered and supervised by quality coaches. Throughout the year the players are engaged in volunteer and civic engagement opportunities as supervised by community members.
